cryptography at metzdowd.com is the venerable [*] standby which is
manually moderated by Perry Metzger. Every post to
cryptography at metzdowd.com awaits Perry's personal stamp of approval
before it goes out to the subscribers. Sometimes that stamp takes a
few months to come down.

cryptography at randombit.net was just created a couple of months ago by
Jack Lloyd when he tired of waiting for cryptography at metzdowd.com
traffic to resume. It uses the modern default behavior of subscribers
being able to post whatever they want whenever they want.

Thanks to both of you guys for contributing your time to facilitate
public discussion.

Regards,

Zooko

[*] Perry originally created the cryptography at metzdowd.com mailing
list when he tired of the spam and craziness on the cypherpunks list
in, oh, I dunno, 1997 maybe?
